About FinNilai
Built for Indian SMBs, not adapted from one.
Most invoicing tools available in India were either designed for US businesses and bolted GST on later, or designed in 2003 and never updated. We started FinNilai because every founder we talked to had the same complaint: “the existing options are either too heavy to learn or too American to file.”
Why the name?
Fin is the obvious half — finance. The interesting half is nilai. In Tamil (நிலை), it means state, standing, stability — the exact word used in the phrase nithi nilai (நிதி நிலை), “financial standing.” That’s the promise: at any moment, know exactly where your business stands. In Malay, nilai means value; in Sanskrit-derived Hindi, nilay (निलय) means a home. We like that all three readings converge on the same thing — a place where your numbers live, and where you always know where you stand.
What we believe
- GST should be first-class, not a plugin. Every invoice, bill, and report assumes Indian compliance — HSN, IGST/CGST/SGST, place of supply, e-invoice when applicable. No “India region” settings to toggle.
- Your data belongs in India. Operational data lives in AWS Mumbai (ap-south-1). Cross-border transfers (if any) are explicitly disclosed in our privacy policy.
- Honest pricing & refunds. No hidden seats, no “contact sales” for basics, no trick on cancellation. See the pricing page — that’s the price.
- Designed for the non-accountant. Founders, ops folks, and admin assistants shouldn’t need a CA on the chat to issue an invoice. Your CA still files; we make sure they get a clean Tally XML to work with.
- Security isn’t an upsell. Two-factor authentication, row-level workspace isolation, audit log, encrypted at rest — included on every plan. Pay more for capacity, not for safety.
The team
FinNilai is operated by Plenitude Systems Private Limited, headquartered in Kallakurichi, Tamil Nadu. We’re a small team of engineers and Indian-SMB veterans who’ve issued our own share of GST invoices. How we’re funded
FinNilai is funded entirely by customer subscriptions. We don’t sell your data and we don’t run ads. If we ever change either of those, you’ll hear about it via email and an in-app banner — not buried in a policy update.
